Use clear fact states
Every important field should be marked confirmed by the agency, supported by a document, imported from the agency website, unverified, missing or not applicable.
Keep provenance
Record where the fact came from and when it was checked. A value copied from an old listing should not become more reliable because it has been rewritten.
Block the ready state when required
Where the branch has defined a fact as required, listing copy should not be treated as ready until the fact is supplied or a responsible person records the approved handling.
Review changes, not only first publication
Lease details, charges, availability, price, works and other property information can change. The branch should have a process for refreshing facts when a listing is amended or relaunched.
Use current professional guidance
Property information and consumer law change. Maintain versioned internal rules and have legal or compliance wording reviewed by an appropriate professional.
